Cream of county in action at Red Deer

-

Champions Red Deer Bowling Club played host to the Lanarkshire Disability Sports Wheelchair and Disability Masters last week.

Jim Sellars took home the title as players from as far afield as Fife and Dumfries came to the Westwood venue to compete.

The competition was played in two sections with the winner in section A, Rosemary Lenton, playing the runner-up in Section B, Neil Laughlin, and the winner in section B, Jim Sillars, playing runner-up in section A, Kenny Dow.

Jim and Rosemary won through to the final and they had a closely-fought game.

After four ends nothing could separate them but Jim won by two shots in the final end to claim the trophy.

Red Deer hosted, provided catering, markers and wheelchair pushers for the competition and the prizes were presented by their club president Ken MacAulay.
