have a new minibus to assist them in the great work that they do around the patients and their families.“

Gordon McHugh, chief executive for the hospice said: “The bus is amazing and a true asset to the hospice.

“We would truly like to thank the Royal Bank of Scotland for not only funding the minibus but for their on-going support to Kilbryde Hospice and the patients, carers and families we serve and, of course, ongoing thanks to the volunteer drivers and passenger assistants who give up their time to provide safe and reliable transport for our patients.”

The charity is also looking for more volunteer minibus drivers.

The hospice are looking for people under 75 years to drive its minivan and under 70 years to drive their minibus.

Margaret Cowan went on: “Wednesday is our busiest day so we are particularly interested in volunteers who can drive the minibus and have some free time between 9am and 4pm.

“You are required earlier than pickups so that we can plan the journeys and return people home after day services.

“We are especially interested if you are MIDAS trained but don’t worry if you haven’t trained as we will arrange this for you.

“This is a great opportunity to gain and develop your experience in the charity sector, make new friends and help Kilbryde Hospice provide compassionate support to people living through the challenges of life-limiting illness.”
