Holiday club fun for kids
A holiday club in St Leonards got youngsters exploring while enjoying plenty of fun and games.
Claremont Parish Church hosted its ever popular summer holiday club for children in P1-7.
This year’s theme was ‘Polar Explorers‘ with a family barbecue to round off the week.
Throughout the week at Polar Explorers, the children participated in various games, craft activities, learned new songs, heard stories from the Bible and, of course, enjoyed a tasty snack.
Alasdair Scott, leader of the holiday club, told the News: “Our holiday club was well attended as always, with over 30 children coming along in the first three days alone.
“In fact one wee girl was mightily upset she was going on holiday and couldn’t come back!
“All the youngsters had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed the crafts and games as well as the singing, storytelling and drama workshops. As always it’s run by our dedicated volunteers at Claremont Parish Church who give up their time to supervise.
“The family barbecue was a great way to round-off the week and was also well attended by parents and carers.
“The holiday club is a great way for parents to entertain the little ones for at least a week out of the summer holidays and as the vast majority of activities are indoors we don’t have to rely on the Scottish weather!”
