Private housing

The green light was given for 19 new homes to be built on the former Stewartfie­ld Farm site, much to the anger of local residents and regulars of the popular pub.

Chris Ladds posted: “Stewartfie­ld Farm was an important EK building although nobody took steps to apply statutory protection orders.”

Karen Devenney said: “Sad. Had a nice meal there when we visited family! The trip from the States to EK wont be the same!”

Boys locked in store

Schoolkids were caught with more than £300 worth of food and booze after being locked in Sainsbury’s Kingsgate overnight and the News story went viral.
