Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (12)

There are no laws of diminishing returns here as we’re treated to another riotous adventure every bit as delightful as its predecessor.

Volume two is crammed with zest, energy and another ace soundtrack. This superlative squad of scoundrels are such cool company, you’d pay to see them trading barbs sat on a couch.

The Flash Season 3 (12)

A bit too much goes on in the speedster’s third season, with too much emphasis on ever-confusing timetravel hijinks.

The characters are as fun and appealing as ever, but the ‘big bad’ is the show’s weakest yet, despite his lofty goals.

But there are laughs, heart and warmth and action in spades, all building to an emotional climax.

Mindhorn (15)

Whereas his old Mighty Boosh pal Noel Fielding has carved quite the career for himself, Julian Barratt has had a more low key post-Boosh existence.

That may all be about to change, though, as the Leeds-born star is in fantastic form as has-been actor Richard Thorncroft.

Barratt, who also co-wrote the screenplay, delivers in spades as the one-time TV detective out to solve a real-life crime.

Terrific support comes from a host of familiar British faces, including Steve Coogan, Russell Tovey and Simon Callow.

The plot is pretty ridiculous, but it knows it and fans of zany humour will be in for a treat.
