Reading a copy of the East Kilbride News in the heart of the town centre, 80-year-old Sarah Mack is every bit the staunch East Kilbridian.

The Murray great-gran has lived in the town for 65 years and was one of the first families to settle here through her father’s work with Rolls-Royce.

A former local bus conductress, Sarah says EK has “the edge on” every town she’s visited.

She said: “I just love East Kilbride – there’s nothing to dislike about the place. It has a great community and I don’t need to shop out in the cold.”

We thanked Sarah and presented her with a box of chocolates.
