Thumbs up for walking routes
Claremont club members enjoy trip out west
The final walk in August for Claremont Rambling Club’s longwalking group was a new one in their diary.
Lix Toll to Lochearnhead was a 10-mile excursion and not an easy one given it was five miles up and five miles down.
However, this did not a p p e a r t o p ha s e t he walkers one bit and it was subsequently accomplished without any problems.
The alternative walk was nine miles, which covered a route f rom St rat hyre t o Callander.
Much to the pleasure of those taking part, it was the exact opposite from their previous experience of the same walk, where they had h e av y r a i n f r o m s t a r t t o finish and in the end they had been totally ‘drookit’.
Overall, the weather on the two walks was absolutely ideal for the purpose and much appreciated by those taking part.
The morning coffee stop was at Dobbies in Stirling a nd t h e s o c i a l h o u r was spent in various watering holes in Callander.
Cl u b n i g ht s hav e n o w commenced and a meeting was scheduled to take place l a s t n i g h t a t C l a r e mont Church small hall.
