Benefit fraud

A benefit cheat was ordered to complete 125 hours of community service when she appeared in the dock at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Linda Montgomery, of Quarry Park in The Murray, admitted claiming £7861 of benefits she wasn’t entitled to between April 7, 2014 and August 21, 2016.

The 61-year-old failed to inform the DWP she had began working.
