Weapons charges

A man was arrested following an alleged disturbance outside the John Wright Sports Centre.

Police were called to the Calderwood leisure facility at around 11am on Saturday.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on weapons and drugs charges and held in custody pending an appearance at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

A report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.
