Par­ents’ party boosts bike fund

Sweet treat­sCeanna 031017green­burn_02 Par­ents of Green­burn Pri­mary pupils dug deep at the week­end to help the school raise funds for a spe­cialised bike.

The par­ent coun­cil held a ta­ble top sale, car wash and Alice in Won­der­land-themed cafe at the Calder­wood school on Satur­day and col­lected more than £500.

The cash will be put to­wards a fund for a £4500 bike for chil­dren with ad­di­tional sup­port needs and mo­bil­ity is­sues, in­clud­ing wheel­chair users.

Head teacher He­len Ni­col praised the group for all their ef­forts and said: “We had a great day. The kids re­ally en­joyed it.

“A big thank you to or­gan­is­ers Su­sanne Bo­gan, Deb­o­rah Boyce and Claire Brein­gan for all their hard work. They are su­per.”
