Strathaven fire­works night to be a cracker

Strathaven and District Round Ta­ble hope that bonfire night will go off with a bang in this year.

The group, which aims to raise money to put into lo­cal com­mu­nity causes and peo­ple, reg­u­larly or­gan­ise events in the town with the bonfire show­piece next month one of the largest.

The event on Satur­day, Novem­ber 4, is re­garded as the big­gest for the group out­side of the gala week fes­tiv­i­ties.

A spokesman for the event en­cour­aged lo­cal folk to back the event and get in­volved with their work in the fu­ture.

Tick­ets can be pur­chased through­out the town for £3 each with a fam­ily of four charged £10.

Chil­dren un­der the age of five get in for free.

A spokesper­son for the group said:“Re­mem­ber, all prof­its made go back into the com­mu­nity and all those in­volved are vol­un­teers.

“If you would like to help us with this event and many oth­ers it would re­ally be ap­pre­ci­ated.”

There are a range of busi­nesses and groups who are sell­ing the tick­ets in­clud­ing: The Bar­ber Shop, Craigs Newsagents, Wester Over­ton PTAl, The Wee Sweetie Shop and The Smiddy, amongst oth­ers in the town.

Lo­cal groups can also get in touch with Strathaven Ro­tary Club to sell tick­ets for the bonfire night.

Gates will open for the event at 7pm with the show start­ing at 8pm.
