Strathaven fireworks night to be a cracker

-

Strathaven and District Round Table hope that bonfire night will go off with a bang in this year.

The group, which aims to raise money to put into local community causes and people, regularly organise events in the town with the bonfire showpiece next month one of the largest.

The event on Saturday, November 4, is regarded as the biggest for the group outside of the gala week festivities.

A spokesman for the event encouraged local folk to back the event and get involved with their work in the future.

Tickets can be purchased throughout the town for £3 each with a family of four charged £10.

Children under the age of five get in for free.

A spokesperson for the group said:“Remember, all profits made go back into the community and all those involved are volunteers.

“If you would like to help us with this event and many others it would really be appreciated.”

There are a range of businesses and groups who are selling the tickets including: The Barber Shop, Craigs Newsagents, Wester Overton PTAl, The Wee Sweetie Shop and The Smiddy, amongst others in the town.

Local groups can also get in touch with Strathaven Rotary Club to sell tickets for the bonfire night.

Gates will open for the event at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm.
