MPLisa’s newrole onDiana group
Dr Lisa Cameron has landed a top role at Westminster.
The East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow MP has been elected as vicechair of the Diana Award AllParty Parliamentary Group in parliament.
The Diana Award is a charity set up in memory of Princess Diana’s belief that young people have the power to change the world, and supports mentorship programmes.
Dr Cameron said: “I am honoured to be vice-chair of the Diana Award APPG and will be doing all I can to support mentorship programmes for young people across this constituency and Scotland.
“Young people really do have the power to change the world and fully deserve to do so.”
Meanwhile, Dr Cameron has praised Strathaven swimmer Lindsey Fleming after she competed at the Special Olympics in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
The Scotland West team member took part in two races at the event.
“She is a dedicated athlete and I’m very proud of her achievements and that of all of our competitors this year,” added Dr Cameron.
