Plans were un­veiled for a huge re­zon­ing project to bat­tle over­crowd­ing in East Kil­bride’s schools.

Over­crowd­ing was be­com­ing an is­sue in ar­eas in­clud­ing Green­hills with par­ents con­tact­ing coun­cil­lors to call for ac­tion.

Pupils at Green­hills Pri­mary were be­ing trans­ferred to nearby Castle­field Pri­mary as a re­sult.

How­ever, some par­ents were wary about the pro­posal.

In other news, Clare­mont Boys’ Club were look­ing to kick-off a foot­balling revo­lu­tion in the town with a new pitch.

The 200-strong club were hop­ing to take over waste­land as part of an am­bi­tious plan aimed at boost­ing foot­balling tal­ent pro­duced in the town.
