EK jumping for joy after medal success

East Kilbride Trampoline Club scored an outstandin­g number of wins at the Scottish National Trampoline and DMT Championsh­ips , taking home 17 medals.

The club won 10 gold, four silver and three bronze medals across the weekend of September 30 to October 1.

Taking gold in the trampolini­ng event were Jodie Morrison and Grace Hughes. There was a gold rush in the DMT as well with Robert Burns, Holly Cochrane and Chloe Orr claiming top spots.

Cameron Donohoe and Evie Williamson won two gold medals in each of their categories for both Trampolini­ng and DMT and Millie Torrence secured a gold in trampolini­ng and a silver in DMT.

Winning silver was Katie Paterson, Caroline Hall and Kirsty Goodwin and taking bronze was Grace Hughes and Amanda Daley.

Chairman, William Paterson, said :“We compete right across the UK but these are our home championsh­ips and we have been very successful across the years and this year has been no different.

“I would like to thank our coaches for all their hard work and all our gymnasts for their dedication and effort.

“This was the last competitio­n for Chloe Orr and Louise Whitters, who have been in our club for 13 and 15 years respective­ly. We thank them for being great team mates and wish them well.

“Thanks to our sponsor Alcatel for the new kit we wore at the Championsh­ips.”
