Teen,17, toawait hisfate
A teen knife thug will have to further await his fate after admitting stabbing a young man to the danger of his life.
The 17-year-old, who lives in Glasgow and cannot legally be named, was originally charged with attempted murder but pled guilty to a reduced charge of assault to the danger of life.
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard how the accused, then aged 16, knifed his 19-year-old victim, causing him to suffer massive blood loss when the blade sliced through his liver.
On the night of the attack, the victim had gone to a flat in Glebe Street, The Village, with the accused for an earlymorning drinking session.
The court was told at a previous hearing that the consultant surgeon described the victim’s injury as a “sliced deep stab wound” and estimated that he had lost two litres of blood.
The teenager appeared for sentencing but sentence was further deferred until December 15.
