Claremont ramblers call in at Callander
The scheduled route for Claremont Rambling Club’s last walk in October was Callander to Brig o’Turk.
The weather was ideal and better than expected in that there were beautiful blue skies and warm sunshine, giving crystal clear views along the way.
There were two walks – the long walk was eight miles and from their vantage point along the route they had sight of lochs Venachar, Drunkie and Achray, sparkling in the sunshine.
The alternative walk was a six-mile in-and-out from Callander. Both excursions were thoroughly enjoyed.
The coffee stop was at Dobbies, Stirling and the social hour was held in Callander.
The next club meeting is on Tuesday, November 14 in the Claremont Church small hall at 7.30pm, where the subject will be ‘Calderwood and Calderglen History’. The speaker is Chris D. Ladd MLitt.
Individuals wishing to join in either walks or club nights can be assured of a warm welcome. For more call (01355) 225885 or go to www.claremontramblers.btck. co.uk
