Help Burgh boys to Valencia for their 50th
East Kilbride Burgh 2006 are hoping YOU can help their dream trip to Valencia become a reality.
To celebrate their 50th anniversary, the club are aiming to raise £10,000 to take the youngsters on a trip of a lifetime in April next year, where they would spend four action-packed days with Spanish La Liga sideValencia.
During their excursion, the players will stay at a hotel at Valencia’s first team training complex and will be trained there by Valencia’s professional coaches.
They will also play matches against the Valencia youth team, as well as local sides.
But it won’t all be hard training for the kids as they will also spend time seeing the local sights and soaking up the culture.
EK Burgh currently have 18 players and the majority of them have been with the team since they were five years old.
Having developed through the various formats of Fun 4, five-a-side and seven-aside, the team will move to 11-a-side games in August next year.
Coach Anthony Devlin said: “Our aim is to raise the required funds to pay for the full costs of the 18 players so they can all attend this fantastic experience.
“We also hope to buy them new strips and tracksuits for the trip.
“Already we have a number of fundraising activities underway but we still need further support.
“This is an opportunity that most of the players will never have again and we want to ensure they have the best experience.”
