Grand Slam challenge for The Boss

-

Ross‘The Boss’Montgomery will face the biggest test of his career this week when he competes in the Grand Slam of Darts.

The best players from the BDO and PDC will face off in Wolverhampton and the Greenhills ace will play top seed and world number one Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Joe Murnan in Group A.

Ross told the News: “David beat Goliath, so I’ll just go out and give it my best shot.

“He’s got nothing to prove by going out and hammering me.

“At the end of the day these guys do it for a living, while I play for fun so there’s no pressure on me to go and win it or anything.

“It’ll be a fun experience and I’ll just go and enjoy it.

“The only pressure is to do myself justice, but if I don’t do well it’s not the end of the world for me because I’ve got a lot of other tournaments coming up to look forward to.

“I’m just glad to be invited with all the success I’ve had in the BDO this season.”

The Grand Slam of Darts will be televised live on Sky Sports from Saturday until November 19.
