Celebrate St Andrew’s Day and help raise hospice funds

-

St Andrew’s Hospice are looking for members of the community to celebrate St Andrew’s Day in style – all the while raising funds to refurbish Lanarkshire’s specialist palliative care hospice.

Maria Leonard, Capital Appeal Corporate Fundraiser said: “We are looking for businesses, individuals and families to ‘do something Scottish’ in aid of our Capital Appeal.

“You could hold a ceilidh, a Burns supper, a St Andrew’s Day Dinner, sell tablet or shortbread, hold a ‘Dress Scottish Day’ at work – the options are endless!

“Our St Andrew’s campaign culminates on St Andrew’s Day, November 30, but we have fundraisers going on before and after this date.”

Organisations taking part include Barclays Bank Glasgow who have organised a day of Scottish activities on December 1, NL Leisure are hosting 24 classes in 24 hours at The Tryst, Cumbernauld on November 30 and last week, Our Lady’s Musical Society held a bucket collection at their Fiddler on the Roof show at Motherwell Concert Hall to raise funds for the Hospice refurbishment.

Maria added: “We also have ‘Strike it Scottish’ Football Cards which are an easy way of raising funds for our Capital Appeal at your work, or within your friends and family.

“If you are entering a team to our Festive Fives football tournament, why not request a card for you and your team mates to raise your entry fee?”

If you like to take part or to request a football card, please contact the Capital Appeal team on 01236 772048.
