20 RAISE A GLASS Beer festival set to be a summer spectacular

Tickets going on sale

- Mark Pirie

It’s time to put a date in the diary if you go to the Eaglesham Beer Festival.

Tickets for this year’s summer spectacular will go on sale in the coming weeks.

And punters are being urged to make sure they don’t miss out.

Organisers of the annual event will again hold a special pre-sale night in the village.

Fraser and Laura Wilson will sell tickets in the Orry Bar of the Best Western Eglinton Arms Hotel on Monday, March 5.

This is aimed at ensuring those from the village get the first chance to buy tickets for the event on Saturday, June 2. Tickets will go on general sale on Friday, March 9.

Fraser says the small team are hoping to make this year’s event better than ever.

He said: “The 2017 event was by far and away our best yet and we still get a huge buzz looking back at all the photos and videos from the day. But we’re determined to make this year’s event better – and we’ve got some cool plans in the pipeline that we can’t wait to share.”

Fraser admits there were a few issues with last year’s festival – not least the queuing on the day – but says that they have listened to feedback and are determined to improve this summer.

He added: “We’re aiming to make a number of improvements – so more toilets, more seating, more tables, another covered area and smoother queuing. All the exciting stuff really.

“Unfortunately that all costs, which is reflected in our slight increase in ticket pricing. But we think at just £5, tickets are still incredible value.

“And with a few freebies to be had upon entry, we’re sure punters will get their money’s worth.”

The pre-sale event takes place from 6.30pm to 9pm and sales on the night are cash only.

There will be no group ticket option this year and briefs can be bought at up to 10 per person.
