Joined-up thinking is the way ahead
Community cops and councillors are to hold joint surgeries in East Kilbride and Avondale.
Inspector Aidan Higgins is urging local folk to get involved and air their views about issues affecting their area.
Insp. Higgins said:“Local police officers want to be as visible and accessible to the community as possible.
“Another way that we can do this is by holding surgeries with ward councillors and listening to the concerns of local residents and councillors.
“I encourage local residents to come along and speak to your local councillor and your local police officers if they have a matter they wish to discuss. We are here to help and want to hear your concerns.”
Councillor Geri Gray and Constables Barry O’Connor and Colin Elliot, who cover East Kilbride South (Greenhills/Whitehills from Newlandsmuir Road to Kelvin Industrial Estate), will be conducting the first surgery at the Alistair McCoist Complex tomorrow night from 7pm to 8pm.
Insp. Higgins added:“If attending a councillor/ police surgery is not something you wish to do, however, you have an issue you wish to raise with local police, you can contact your local police problemsolving team via: LanarkshireLPST EastKilbride@strathclyde. pnn.police.uk and a local officer will get in touch with you.”
●Details about future surgeries will be published via East Kilbride police’s Twitter account: @ EKRuthCambusPol and in the News.
