Get the honey glow look this Valentine’s

-

Little Cupid is sharpening up his arrows and getting ready to take aim and fire this Valentine’s Day – getting couples addicted to love.

And if you have a special date night planned I have a great look that will really make you shine this Valentine’s Day.

For a big night out it’s easy to concentrate on strong looks for the lips and eyes.

But I want things to be in soft focus and look at ways to give you the real honey glow.

Beautiful, healthy glowing skin is eye-catching – if you have that you can cut right back on everything else.

It seems that the very strong looks which are so popular right now are gradually starting to fade out.

There’s nothing wrong with a great strong look – just not overdone skin.

To get that love glow we really have to start at the beginning.

Apply plenty of moisturiser to suit your skin type, then dab some eye cream or Bio-Oil around the eye area.

Be sure to put on plenty if your skin is dehydrated.

Smooth on an even layer of MAC strobe cream or your chosen illuminating product.

Take a stippling brush and some MAC Face and Body foundation and then buff it across the skin.

It’s good to buff ... the more you buff, the more you will glow. I take a little bit of time to do this as it’s an important step.

Take your foundation, which should ideally be light reflective and illuminating, and apply it ONLY where you need it.

I apply a very small amount for this step and puff it in to the skin.

For anything that requires more coverage, use a tiny brush with concealer and then set with a very fine powder.

Next, put a little highlighter on the cheek bone and you’ll be literally glowing for your night full of love and romance.

Now that your complexion is glowing, it’s time to focus on your eyes – the windows to the soul.

But remember with this look that less is more because your skin is taking centre stage.

Take a brow gel or pencil – I love MAC brow gel in Deep dark brunette or Dirty Blonde – and using an angled brush sweep some hair strokes to even out your brows and give a bit more definition. A good tip is to just put strokes where you need them, not block colour. Extend the arch a touch to raise your brows slightly.

Then, using a natural taupe shadow, darken the crease of your eyes, focusing on the outer corners.

Line your eyes with black pencil – top and bottom –and smudge some of your taupe shadow into it using your angled brush. This will create a softer smoky look. Apply lashings of mascara to finish and your eyes will really pop.

For the lips, use a warm neutral colour to look effortlessly glamorous.

A favourite is MAC’s Velvet Teddy – it’s a big hit with the Kardashian’s too.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
