Sleeping woman assaulted

A sex beast who attacked a sleeping woman on a night train from East Kilbride more than a week ago is still being hunted by police.

The victim, who is in her thirties, was travelling on the 10.28pm service from East Kilbride to Glasgow Central on Saturday, February 3 when she was approached by a stranger.

She was subjected to a serious sexual assault. The attack lasted for some time and may have been witnessed by other passengers.

The victim, who is in her 30s, was travelling on the 10.28pm service from East Kilbride to Glasgow Central on Saturday, February 3 when she was approached by a stranger.

He kissed and touched her inappropri­ately before subjecting her to a prolonged serious sexual assault.

The attack lasted for some time and may have been witnessed by other passengers in the carriage.

British Transport Police said the woman had been asleep on the train prior to the assault and that other passengers may not have been aware that she was being assaulted.

The woman got off the train at Glasgow Central and was spoken to by a group of passengers who had been on the train and helped her towards a connecting train service.

The suspect is a white man in his 20s, approximat­ely 5ft 10ins and of slim build.

He had dark hair and was wearing a blue Stone Island top, black jeans and dark Adidas-style trainers.

Detectives are keen to speak with anyone who was on board this train and may have seen what happened or felt concerned by what they saw.
