16 COMPETITION Make the most of coffee culture in EK

Try your luck in our fab comp

-

There’s nothing better than sinking into a comfy sofa, chatting to friends and sipping a wellmade coffee – isn’t coffee culture bliss?

The 1990s saw a boom in coffee shop openings as programmes like Friends highlighted the joy of hanging out with your besties drinking coffee made by a trained barista (Gunther we love you!).

Now, over 70 million cups of coffee are consumed in the UK every single day. It seems Britain has asked the cup of tea to step aside.

And EK, East Kilbride is the perfect place to indulge in excellent coffee made by baristas who take real pride in what they do.

Not only does the centre have three Costa Coffees (in The Hub, Centre West, Debenhams), a Starbucks and the newly opened Tim Hortons, there’s also Café Romana, Zucca Bistro, Muffin Break and more.

For those who get a little bamboozled by coffee menus here’s a quick guide ■ Espresso – A short, shot of caffeine.

■ Macchiato – A shot of espresso with a dollop of steamed milk and foam.

■ Americano – Hot water with an espresso shot.

■ Café Latte – Espresso with steamed milk and foam.

■ Cappuccino – Similar to a latte but with more foam and chocolate.

■ Flat white – Like a latte but with a little less milk and more espresso

■Mocha – Mix between a cappuccino and a hot chocolate.

So why not enter into our competition to win a £50 EK gift card so you can treat your friends to a catch-up in one of EK’s fab coffee houses?
