Road closures affecting East Kilbride and Avondale:

RED DEER ROAD / ALBERTA AVENUE. Closed between Westwood Road and Alberta Crescent to 190 Alberta Avenue from 7am on Wednesday, February 28 to 11pm on Friday, March 2 for carriageway resurfacing. Alternative route via Westwood Road, Winnipeg Drive, Alberta Avenue, Quebec Drive and Murrayhill. ALISON LEA. Closed between Calderwood Road and Tannahill Drive from 7am on Saturday, March 3 to 7pm on Wednesday, March 7 for carriageway resurfacing. Alternative route is Calderwood Road, Maxwellton Avenue, Buchandyke Road, Morrishall Road and Tannahill Drive. CROOKEDSHIELDS ROAD. Closed between No 158 Glasgow Road to Marion Brae Cottage from 7.30am on Thursday, March 1 to 7pm on Monday, March 5 for utility works at a new housing development. Alternative route via A749, Glasgow Road (Nerston), Crookedshields Highway, Flemington Road and Stoneymeadow Road. NEWHOUSEMILL ROAD. Closed between Calderside Road, Hamilton and Lismore, East Kilbride until Monday, March 5 for emergency repairs to bridge. Alternative route via A726 Strathaven Road, Kingsway, A725 Expressway, B7012, Douglas Street, Sydes Brae (Blantyre). DIXON PLACE. Closed between Hawbank Road and termination at turning area from 5pm to 2am each evening on Thursday, March 8 and Friday, March 9 for carriageway surfacing. MOSSNEUK AVENUE. Closed between the junction of Forth Grove and No 25 Forth Court from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Sunday, March 11 for a manhole repair. Alternative route is Greenhills Road, Eaglesham Road, Westwood Road, Westwood Hill and Mossneuk Road.

MEADOWHEAD HIGHWAY. Closed between Meadowhead Farm access and Cladence Highway from Friday, April 13 to Monday, October 12, 2020, for safety reasons. Diversion via Cladence Highway, Millwell Road and Ardochrig Road.

B745 WPL HIGHWAY. Closed between Turner’s Yard (Drumclog Plant Hire) and South Torfoot from Monday, February 26 to Friday, March 2 for road maintenance works. Alternative route via B745 WPL Highway, B743 Muirkirk Road, A71 Darvel Road, B745 WPL Highway and vice versa.
