Business award for Turner Autosport

Strathaven-based business Turner Autosport has just been named Best Specialised Retailer 2018 at a top business awards.

The family-run business claimed the gong in the Glasgow round of Scotland’s Business Awards.

After the ceremony at The Marriot Hotel they now move on to the grand finals this June.

The company was formed in May 2012 by Steve Turner, a professional automotive design engineer and keen motorsport enthusiast.

It started as a part-time online business, initially run from home, and has grown exponentially in its lifetime.

It now operates from a 900sq ft unit in Strathaven, with a showroom based over two floors.

They supply into all types of competition disciplines in Scotland and further afield, with customers as far away as Hong Kong, the Philippines and Mexico.

Disciplines include motor racing, rallying, sprints and hill climbs, offroading, karting, track-days, and pretty much everything in between.

The type of equipment supplied can range from £5000 Formula 1 standard helmets, right down to essential £3.50 safety stickers as well as the very latest in competition safety equipment.

The company has also provided sponsorship to a number of championships and drivers over the last four years.
