Health chiefs are to carry out a full review after a missing University Hospital Hairmyres patient was found dead.
Stephanie Murphy, 28, was discovered by police at her home in Dee Place, Mossneuk less than an hour after she left the hospital.
The mum-of-two was reported missing shortly before midnight on Mother’s Day after leaving the hospital and was found unresponsive, and alone, in her home 40 minutes later.
Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the sudden death.
NHS Lanarkshire will meet with Stephanie’s family to ensure they are fully involved in the probe into her death. Margaret Serrels, service manager of mental health and learning disability services, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the family at this difficult time.
“We will carry out a full review in line with the NHS Lanarkshire significant adverse event review process.
“As part of the review process we will contact the patient’s family to give them the opportunity to share their views and raise any questions they have.
“A copy of the final report will be provided to the family.”

“Police commenced a missing persons investigation and discovered the patient within her house at 12.30am on March 12. The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that she had died.
