Winning awards at the double
An East Kilbride business has scooped two top awards at a ceremony recognising local government suppliers.
The Furnishing Service (TFS) was crowned winner in the community benefits category and in the customer Service category at the Scotland Excel Supplier Excellence Awards.
The St Leonards company is a supplier on the furnishing contract which helps Scottish councils provide furnishings and goods to vulnerable residents.
Randle Wilson, managing director of The Furnishing Service, said:“I am delighted that TFS was named as winners in two separate categories at the Scotland Excel Supplier Excellence Awards 2018.
“To be shortlisted in these categories was quite an achievement in its own right. However, to have won them is amazing.
“This level of recognition is not just down to one or two people but to all of us – and the part we play in making a real, positive, difference to people’s lives.”
South Lanarkshire depute provost, Councillor Collette Stevenson, who sits on Scotland Excel’s Executive sub-committee, said: “Our suppliers play a vital role in supporting delivery of essential public services, and it is right and fitting that we recognise those that go the extra mile.
“My congratulations go to The Furnishing Service for their hard work and well-deserved success in these prestigious awards.”
