Claremont in Comrie

-

With their last walk in March, Claremont Rambling Club members were very fortunate to enjoy absolutely first-class weather.

The heavy falls of snow that this part of the country experienced had lingering examples on the surrounding hills.

The two walks were in Comrie – the long walk of nine miles was the Glen Lednock Circular which included an interesting river crossing.

And the alternate walk, seven miles in and out, was Glen Artney and passed Earthquake House.

With beautiful blue skies, the surrounding scenery was outstanding and thoroughly enjoyed by all participating.

The morning stop was at the Crieff Visitor Centre and the social hour was split between the Royal Hotel and the Comrie Hotel in Comrie.

All in all, members concluded that it had been a really enjoyable day’s walking.

The next outing will be on Sunday, April 8 with the destination being Pitmedden Forest in Fife.

There will be a club meeting on Tuesday, April 10 in the usual venue of Claremont Church small hall at 7.30pm.

Ian Robertson will be the guest speaker on this occasion with a talk entitled ‘Various Police Duties’.

Individuals wishing to join either walks or club nights can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.
