Woman walks in on thieves

A woman came home to find two thieves rifling through her possession­s.

The shocked 59-year-old disturbed the pair as they ransacked her St Leonards house in broad daylight.

She returned home to find the men raiding her Glen Prosen property of jewellery after breaking in on Wednesday, May 9.

The first suspect is described as around 30 years old and 6ft tall with a medium build and black wavy hair. He was wearing a blue zipper with dark jogging bottoms.

There was no descriptio­n of the second suspect.

Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch. Call 101 or Crimestopp­ers anonymousl­y on 0800 555111 quoting incident number 1967 of 09/05/18.

Informatio­n is also being sought after a number of sheds were targeted by an opportunis­t thief.

At around 3.40am on Tuesday, May 8 a Westwood resident was awoken by a noise within their Netherton Road property – and found their shed had been broken into.

Police later discovered sheds in neighbouri­ng gardens had also been targeted.
