Stained glass in the frame
Members of Strathaven Inner Wheel Club enjoyed a talk on stained glass during their latest meeting.
President Joan Duncan chaired the forum at the Strathaven Hotel as she introduced guest speaker Jennifer Paterson.
Ms Paterson spoke about her work with stained glass which is a hobby she had taken up in retirement.
She started by outlining the history of stained glass and its manufacture from the seventh century up until the present time.
And she then demonstrated, step by step, how stained glass artefacts are made today – showing the audience the tools and materials which are needed.
Ms Paterson rounded off her demonstration by displaying a number of beautiful pieces which she herself had made and which were much admired by the audience.
At the end of the talk, programme convener Wendy Gilmour thanked Ms Paterson for agreeing to speak.
