Multi-million pound repair work looks set to take place on roads in the East Kilbride area.

Work to repair weather damage has been added to scheduled repairs and includes 31 separate resurfacing projects.

“The slip road towards Gardenhall has been left since the bad winter we had,” she said.

Danny Kinniburgh, along with wife Maureen, felt more could be done to save drivers facing costly repairs.

He continued: “The road near us on the road to Greenhills had been repaired recently. You could see for a while that it was needing done, with big chunks out of it.”

Calderwood resident Victoria Ward feels that the road to Strathaven from East Kilbride was of a poor standard.

“It’s been patched up but needs more done,” she insisted.

Chris Ward added: “There have been times where you stop and worry that you’ve broken your tyres so it’s good they’re investing.”
