Whitemoss Recreation Area could change from being an outdoor sports ground to a multi- facility indoor sports arena.

The facility, which already housed the John Wright Sports Centre, was set to be given a new indoor bowling hall costing around £500,000 and a second indoor sports centre costing £998,000, following a decision by East Kilbride District Council’s recreation committee.

An East Kilbride scout troop were offering a £50 reward for information leading to the return of four tents and other equipment which was stolen when their hall in Shield Place was broken into.

The tents were worth about £220 and second-hand axes were also taken.
