Countdown to Strathaven balloon fest
Final preparations are being made ahead of this year’s Strathaven Balloon Festival.
The popular annual event will begin with balloon launches at 6pm on Fr i day, August 24 at John Hastie Park – weather permitting.
On the Saturday and Sunday, balloons will be launched at 6.30am and again at 6pm.
The Sky Masters from Skydive St rat hall an will be putting on a display at 3pm each day on both the Saturday and Sunday.
And from 9pm on Saturday, residents and visitors will be able to marvel at the spectacular evening glow.
Unlike many balloon gatherings, St rat haven Balloon Festival combine the magnificent sight of hot air balloons with their Saturday and Sunday fun days so that there’ s something for all of the family to enjoy.
This year’ s entertainment includes music, dancers, birds of prey, a fun fair, stalls galore, classic vehicles and much more.
For a full list of events and times, the souvenir programme is available in local shops and in the park on festival days, priced at £2.
And you can buy a raffle ticket for the chance to win a flight in a hot air balloon and other fantastic prizes.
