Fun day sets up club for season ahead

-

Team effort East Kilbride Hockey Club got in the swing of things for the forthcoming season by holding a Family Fun Day at Duncanrig Sports Centre on Saturday.

A mini tournament kicked off the event and there were activities to keep everyone on their toes before the much-anticipated parents and coaches versus juniors match.

With refreshments and some home baking it was a sociable catch-up before the hard work for teams commences this Saturday with the start of the new season.

EK have two men’s teams, two ladies teams and a junior section, so there’s a place for everyone hoping to take up the sport. For details check out the website: www.eastkilbridehockeyclub.co.uk.

Club president Ross Leatham also revealed EK are on the lookout for a new sponsor. He said:“We have a lot to offer potential sponsors in terms of exposure for their brand, access to particular demographics and a great working relationship with the club.

“We are a Scottish Hockey recognised ‘Focus Club’and‘Silver Accredited Club’ – which means we are committed to developing the game and our players.

“We have always had great support from organisations in Lanarkshire and we are hoping for the opportunity to show what a partnership with us could mean.”

EK are also looking for‘Have a Ball’ contributors, who sponsor matches for £10. If interested, contact Sally Hall on 07776 347267.
