Ruthless YM net 30 goals

-

It has been raining goals for East Kilbride’s Caledonian League side after they scored THIRTY times in two games.

Last midweek they thrashed Holytown Colts 15-0 and on Saturday they repeated their goal-scoring exploits with a 15-1 demolition of Rhu Amateurs.

Cammy McCulloch netted four in the win over Holytown, while Mikey Carroll grabbed a hat-trick. Jordan Calder scored twice and James Cameron, David Cameron, Ryan Kelly, Connor McCann and Ross McDonagh were also on target. A Colts own goal completed their misery.

At Rhu McCann scored four, James Cameron bagged a hat-trick, while David Cameron and McDonagh both notched doubles. McCulloch, Dean Arroll, Craig Kincaid and Kelly completed the scoring for YM.

Ironically, Rhu’s consolation was goal of the day: a 20- yard volley into the top corner.

This Saturday YM will hope to find their shooting boots again when they start their Scottish Amateur Cup campaign against Port Glasgow at Hamilton Palace, kick-off 1pm.

They will also be hoping for a victory to help them enjoy their Annual Sportsman’s Dinner on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, YM’s GGPL side qualified for the quarter-finals of the league cup with two fine victories.

Two goals from Scott Campbell and one from Stuart McMillan ensured a 3-2 victory over Eastwood Park Mount last midweek, and on Saturday a Mark O’Donnell hat-trick gave them a 3-0 victory over Westerlands.
