EK comedy star to perform in the town
An East Kilbride comic will bring his hilarious confessional stand-up routine to the arts centre next week.
Breaking the News star Stuart Mitchell’s highlyanticipated sophomore show sees the East Mains funnyman turn his comedic skills to his previous life as a high-flying banker, questioning the role that money, luxury and upbringing played in shaping him into the man he is today.
In Gordon Ramsay’s Karma Café, Mitchell examines his life and turns it into an hilarious and heartfelt hour of comedy, telling the astonishing true story of how the worlds of haute cuisine and high finance collided, setting him on the path he is on today.
See him reflect on how the worst moments can become the most important ones – and find out exactly how one wildly expensive meal changed everything.
Mitchell made his debut in 2016 with the criticallyacclaimed show Dealt a Bad Hand, which transformed dark topics such as suicide and loss into a poignant and witty hour.
The run was a sell-out and extra performances were added due to popular demand.
Mitchell has performed all over the world, including on the exclusive line-up for Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Best of the Edinburgh Fest, as well as a recent tour of the United States.
He is the longest-running panellist on BBC Radio Scotland’s Breaking the News – and has written for Mock the Week, The News Quiz and The Now Show.
Mitchell’s finely-tuned gags and deftly crafted jokes make this honest and thoughtful show a guaranteed joy.
The show runs on Friday, September 14 at 8pm. Visit www.stuartmitchellcomedy. com for tickets.
