Queens rule in opener
EKFC Reserves suffered defeat after Queen’s Park ran out 3-0 winners in the first game of their league campaign at K-Park.
The home side conceded three first half goals from Ewan MacPherson, Ali Miller and Ewan East, securing the three points for the visiting team.
The Reserves take a break from league action as they face EKThistle Juniors this week in a friendly.
They return to competitive business when they face Airdrie Reserves on Monday, September 10 at the Excelsior Stadium.
Five-star Craig inspires win
Mitchell Craig single handedly secured the U19 Golds victory against a physical Gartcairn, scoring all five goals.
The five-star showing from Craig secured a 5-2 victory in the side’s league cup section.
That display set the squad up for a successful Scottish Cup first round triumph on Saturday, where they brushed Mossend aside 4-0.
Danny Hashim and Ronan Fox both scored goal of the season contenders before Lee Bowers grabbed the other two.
Vale pay the penalty
EKFC U19 Blues battled out a stalemate on Saturday against Vale of Leven.The sides were 1-1 at after 90 minutes, courtesy of a Dylan Collins goal, which resulted in penalty kicks. EK made no mistake and secured a 4-2 shoot-out win.
Nine is fine for U17s
The U17 squad ran out convincing 9-0 winners away at Hillwood FC. Ben Richford hit a hat-trick for Kilby with Kalvin Hill, Shay O’Donnell, Mitchel Foley, Blair Rossiter all chipping in and Ewan Hornell grabbing a brace.
