The following planning applications were lodged with South Lanarkshire Council for East Kilbride and Avondale between Monday, September 3 and Friday, September 7:

●Erection of rear extension, 1 Bishopdale, East Kilbride. Applicant, Mr David Doherty.

●Erection of one-and-a-half storey side extension with associated alterations including the conversion of the existing integral single garage, 3 Stoneyhill Wynd, Chapelton. Applicant, D and P Riddell.

●Demolition of existing steading and erection of five detached dwellinghouses, Cartside Farm, Cartside Highway, Thorntonhall. Applicant, Carnbroe Estates Ltd.

Meanwhile, the following planning applications were approved for East Kilbride and Avondale during the same period:

●Erection of self-storage units (Class 6 storage or distribution), 1 Redwood Crescent, East Kilbride. Applicant, c/o 16 Gordon Street, Glasgow.

●Erection of summer house (retrospective), 12 School Road, Sandford. Applicant, Ms S Lachlan.

●Section 42 application to delete condition 5 of application EK/16/0229 to allow permanent use of outdoor seating area as part of existing coffee shop operating 11am until 3pm Monday to Saturday, 2 Thomson Street, Strathaven. Applicant, Mr Roddy Gillies.

●Conversion of integral garage to form habitable room, 11 Napier Crescent, Strathaven. Applicant, Mrs M White.
