Reserves lose out to Killie

-

East Kilbride’s reserve team suffered a narrow 17-13 defeat to Kilmarnock.

Injuries to Andy Kampman, Duck MacDonald and Ross Arthur left them a man short for an hour – but they still should have won.

Arthur and Matthew Fletcher scored tries. Craig Smith added a penalty but failed conversions, both from in front of the posts, by Fletcher and captain Pat Quigg, saw them come up short.

Meanwhile, there was huge encouragement taken from a second outing this season for the third XV who beat Dalziel 31-19.

Grizzled veteran Euan Perry somehow scored two tries from prop with Willie Roslin, Barry McLeod and captain William Harper also crossed. Hugh Johnston kicked the extras. ●There was disappointment in West Division Two for Strathaven as their match at home to Millbrae was postponed.

Craig Ferguson’s side, who sit sixth in the table, will be hoping for better luck this Saturday when they travel to Uddingston (kick-off 3pm).
