Road closures affecting East Kilbride and Avondale:

BLACKLAW DRIVE. Closed over short sections between side roads daily from 9.30am to 3.30pm between Monday, October 15 and Friday, October 19 for Scottish Water repairs. LAW PLACE. Closed between Markethill Road and Cairn Court to 7pm on Sunday, October 21 for developer sewer connection works. Alternative route via Markethill Road, East Mains Road and Mavor Avenue. KENDAL ROAD. Closed between No 23 and No 29 from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Wednesday, October 24 for Scottish Water manhole repair. Alternative route via Keswick Road, Kirkstone Close and Newlandsmuir Road. ELPHINSTONE CRESCENT. Closed between No 125 and Wardlaw Crescent from 12 noon to 6pm on Wednesday, October 24 for Scottish Water manhole repair. Alternative route Bruce Terrace, Elphinstone Crescent and Kelvin Drive.

AULDHOUSE ROAD. Closed between Bent Hall Farm and Langlands Road between 9am to 5pm daily from Monday, October 15 to Wednesday, October 17 for tree cutting on behalf of British Telecom. Alternative route via Greenhills Road, A726 Strathaven Road, Thorn Highway, Millwell Road, Cleughearn Road and vice versa. MEADOWHEAD HIGHWAY. Closed between Meadowhead Farm access and Cladence Highway to Monday, October 12, 2020 for road safety reasons. Diversion via Cladence Highway, Millwell Road and Ardochrig Road.

ALSTON STREET. Closed between Glassford Primary School and North Lodge from Saturday, October 13 to Sunday, October 21 to allow drainage and street lighting works associated with the new housing development. Alternative route is via Alston Street, Muirburn Road, Hunterlees Road, Jackson Street, Alston Street and vice versa.

B743 MUIRKIRK ROAD. Closed between High Dykes Farm and Redding Road to Friday, October 12 for road surfacing works. Alternative route via B743 Muirkirk Road, A70 Muirkirk Road, B743, B7037, A719, A71 Darvel Road, B743 Muirkirk Road and vice versa. A726 GLASGOW ROAD. Closed between Coldstream Highway and No 134 Glasgow Road from Saturday, October 13 to Tuesday, October 23. Access to Overton Avenue will be maintained at all times from one direction. Traffic will be diverted via A723 to Hamilton, A72/A74 to Burnbank, High Blantyre Road, Main Street, A725 East Kilbride Expressway/Kingsway, A726 to Strathaven and vice versa. This is to allow road surfacing works and the installation of sewers associated with the East Overton housing development. OVERTON ROAD. Closed between Commercial Road and Hogan Drive from Monday, October 15 to Sunday, October 21 for resurfacing. Diversion is Ashkirk Road, Viewmount Crescent, Woodhill Road, Glasgow Road, Commercial Road and vice versa. B7086. Strathaven to Lesmahagow road closed between Craig Bridge and St Annes Well from Sunday, October 21 to Monday, October 29 for resurfacing. Diversion via B7086 Strathaven Road, B7078 Carlisle Road, A71 Ayr Road, A71 Stonehouse bypass, A71 Strathaven Road, A71 Stonehouse Road, A71 Kirk Street, B7086 Station Road, B7086 Lesmahagow Road and vice versa.
