-

Members who attended the latest meeting of Gilmourton Rural were treated to a most enjoyable talk on jewellery through the Ages which was given by Gordon Todd and his colleague Barry Robertson from McGowans Jewellers.

The presentation drew on their vast experience in the trade and they had some fascinating tales to tell.

Particularly appreciated was the chance to examine the beautiful pieces they brought along to illustrate the talk.

In addition, they answered many questions and offered individual members valuable advice on caring for their own jewellery. This all made for a great evening. Competition winners were: A piece of jewellery – 1, Janette Smith; 2, Marion Hamilton; 3, Mary Craig. Three squares of favourite traybake – 1, Mary Harkness; 2, Marion Law; 3, Janette Smith.
