Bonnie wee ones win photoshoot

It’s official – Rory McIntyre, Ivy Clark and Lacey Divers are the cutest kids in East Kilbride.

The three bonnie babes were voted winners across their respective age categories in the East Kilbride News 2018 Cute Kids competition.

Launched in August, it saw dozens of parents submit pictures of their precious little ones – with the winners of the competition chosen by public vote.

Four-month-old Rory was winner of the newborn to nine-month-old contest; Ivy won the nine- to-18 months category while Lacey took the 18 months-to-three years title.

All of the children will enjoy a photoshoot with local business Amanda Hemphill Photography as their prize and parents will also receive a large print canvas.

Rory’s mum Amy Tracey was thrilled to learn that her little cherub had proved so popular with voters.

She said: “Rory winning is such a nice surprise. He is just the happiest wee baby ever, he never cries and is always smiling.

Amy, from Calderwood, added that Rory is well used to the flash of a camera – and lots of adoring attention.

“I’m very much looking forward to the photoshoot,” she said. “Rory is a natural in front of the camera.”

So, too, is 18-month-old Ivy.

Mum Erin, from Westwood, entered her into the competition, admitting she is a “wee poser”.

She is already looking forward to the photoshoot, explaining Ivy is a very sociable toddler.

“She’s quite a funny wee girl,” Erin said.

“I didn’t expect to win and when I got excited she started jumping about too – even though she won’t know what it’s about.

“Ivy will just love the photoshoot because she is a wee poser.”

Erin added: “She is a very good girl so it’s fabulous she’s won.”

Camera-loving Lacey is the third winner of the competition and she is already looking forward to her photoshoot.

The St Leonards toddler, who turns two next May, enjoys being the centre of attention, according to mum Leanne.

She said: “I’m so happy for her.

“We are very much looking forward to the shoot – Lacey loves a photoshoot.

“She is a happy wee thing who loves pouting for the camera just like her big sister Aimee.”

Calderglen High pupil Aimee, 14, and nine-yearold brother Cole, 9, who attends Blacklaw Primary, celebrated their little sister’s big win while holidaying at a caravan park during October break.
