Big-hearted bowlers raise hospice cash
Indoor club hand over £500 to local charity
East Kilbride Indoor Bowling Club held their annual prizegiving recently – and helped raise funds for Kilbryde Hospice in the process.
On Saturday, October 20 the club’s awards ceremony was followed by a race night, raising a fantastic sum of £500 for the local charity.
A great night was had by all.

Club members have still been taking to the greens for competitive action.
In the Gents League, East Kilbride beat Paisley 83-61 to leave them in mid-table.
In the seniors league EK suffered a 114-37 defeat to Ardrossan.
The seniors have had a tough start to the campaign and three straight defeats leaves them bottom of the table.
Club duo Laura Hall and Maria McGraw, fell in the second round of the Ladies 2-Bowls Pairs competition where they lost 2-0 to Ayr, while in the Gents’ event Christopher McGeough and David MacDonald were beaten 2-1 in the first round by Auchinleck.
Elsewhere, Greg McLeish qualified for the Under 17 Scottish Young Bowlers event.
Greg will now play David Eaton of Blantyre Indoor Bowling Club in the final on November 10 at the Dewar Centre, Perth – an event which will be televised on the BBC.
