-

The Top Guns’strong start to the season continued as they swept aside The Jokers with a resounding 11-3 victory that was never in doubt.

While a number of tricky fixtures await Andy Mason’s team, they have set a real marker down for the season.

The Top Guns currently sit two points ahead of the Entertainers at the top of the table, three ahead of The Greenhills and four clear of Club 72.

At this early stage of the season, Andy Mason posts a perfect 7/7 player of the year record, and sits joint top alongside Chris Bryden of Club 72 and Paul Watt of the Entertainers.

Elsewhere, there were solid 10-4 wins for The Entertainers, Club 72 and The Assassins against Calderwood, Cuesters and Murray respectively, while The Greenhills came back to beat The Amigos 9-5.

The Hunters got off the mark with an 8-6 win over the Tower Bar, with Superleague players John Purdie and Davie‘ Bomber’ Mac Kin non winning twice to inspire the victory.

This weekend sees the East Kilbride ‘A’ team travelling to Pettycur Bay for the Superleague, and co-captains Lee Crawford and Jack Stewart are feeling confident ahead of leading EK on the national stage again.

Lee said:“It is just a privilege to lead such a strong squad of players. I can’t wait to get down there with my man Jack Stewart.”
