K-PARK ROUND-UP WITH JOSH KANE

-

Kilby are Leithal in capital

It was a thoroughly convincing performance for the U19 Blues as they brushed aside Edinburgh League leaders Leith 8-0 in the Scottish Cup.

A brace from Taylor and Collins along with goals from Simpson, Fellowes, Peden and Cavanagh put Kilby firmly in the hat for the next round of the competition.

The side now look forward to the much anticipated Scottish Youth Cup fixture against Rangers on Sunday at the Hummel Training Centre, the venue for the Ibrox first team’s training sessions.

Rest for Reserves

The East Kilbride reserve side will take a break from competitive action this week as they are the spare team in their Cup section, but they will play Irvine Vics in a friendly at K-Park.

Next up for the side is a trip to Ayr United in the League Cup where they look to take their impressive league form – they’ve won four of their six games – into knockout competition.

Golds fight back to draw

The under-19 Golds fought back for a share of the spoils at K-Park on Sunday as they rallied from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with a strong Cantera Red’s side.

Midfield playmaker CJ Hughes initiated the comeback with Jack McKenna securing the vital point for the home side.

U17s Mussel through

The U17s continued their outstanding start to the season with a 3-0 victory in the Scottish Cup against Musselburgh FC.

The Edinburgh side had remained undefeated all season until meeting the K-Park outfit, so it’s a big scalp for the Kilby kids.
