EK riders in tribute to Allan
Tragic biker’s farewell
A biker who died in a horror crash on the East Kilbride Expressway will be honoured in a ‘last ride’ tribute before being laid to rest on Monday.
Allan Nicolson, 24, was thrown from his red Suzuki motorbike before it went up in flames after he collided with a car allegedly being driven the wrong way.
In a show of support, East Kilbride-based motorcycle club False Gods MCC is rallying bikers and trikers from across the country to join them in a convoy to the Glasgow man’s funeral at Dalnottar Crematorium in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.
The convoy will set off from Great Western Road Retail Park and “make some noise” for Allan before joining the funeral procession from Co-op funeralcare in Knightswood through the Clyde Tunnel, up the M8 over the Kingston Bridge into the crematorium.
False Gods MCC president Ross McEwan, a former pupil of Calderglen High School, told the News they want “to make some noise for Allan as he himself loved to do” before leaving the family to pay their last respects.
Riders taking part are asked to wear something blue in remembrance of Allan.
The fatal collision took place on Saturday, November 10, half-amile south of the Raith Interchange.
Mr Nicholson was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services. William McLean appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on November 12 charged in connection with the incident.
The 34-year-old, of Glasgow, is accused of death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drink or drugs. He made no plea and was bailed.
