Cinderella is staged by the popular theatre group

- Andrea Lambrou

The curtain came up at the Village Theatre last night for panto classic Cinderella – oh yes it did!

Eros Musical Society members are staging the much-loved pantomime following the success of last year’s show Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Specially written for the Clarkston-based amateur theatre group, the hilarious production promises to have audiences rolling in the aisles.

The club has been in existence for more than 50 years, although the majority of their many successful productions were performed at Eastwood Theatre before its members began treading the boards out of town.

Ahead of opening night, Eros president Ian McAulay told the News: “Our version of Cinderella, specially written for Eros, is going to be fantastic.

“The script is from the same professional author as last year’s side-splitting Snow White.

“He has been responsible for most of the pantomimes shown in the King’s Theatre over the last several years, and Cinderella promises lots of fun, laughter, great costumes and of course, sing-a-long tunes perfect for a pantomime.”

The production will run until Saturday, November 24, starting at 7.30pm each night with an extra matinee performance at 1pm and an earlier evening show at 6pm on Saturday.

Individual tickets for performances to Thursday are priced at £12 and Friday and Saturday shows cost £13.

There are group deals available for 10 or more tickets which can be purchased for £10 each.

Family tickets are also on offer from £30 for two adults and two children.Contact Eros on (01355) 232241 or box office on (01355) 261000 for more information.
