Glassford Primary School Glassford Primary is busy preparing for their main fundraiser of the year which is the Christmas fayre. This will be held in the school on Friday between 6pm and 8pm. Lots of local crafts people and businesses are taking a table and there will be activities to keep children entertaine­d and for them to spend their pocket money on. Please go along and enjoy tea, coffee and delicious home baking whilst browsing the sales tables for Christmas gifts and ideas. There is no entry fee and all children and adults are welcome. There will be a grand raffle and children’s tombola with fantastic toys and games available to win. Meanwhile, the P1 to P3 class is working on their Castles and Knights project and will soon enjoy a trip to Stirling Castle where they will see a puppet show as well as have a tour round the Castle. The P4 to P7 class is studying various weather types and have been building working volcanoes amongst other things. The whole school enjoyed a trip to the cinema recently to see Hotel Transylvan­nia. The school also has a new house points system and pupils are eagerly accumulati­ng points, trying to win the house end-ofterm prize. Senior Circle Winners of the October 200 club draw were as follows: 1, L Harkness; 2, M Bailey and S Struthers; 3, E Frame, L Webb and M Torrance. Thanks to everyone for attending coffee morning on Saturday, November 3 and also for the donations of home baking, tombola and gold silver table. A total of £492 was raised by the event.
