A trainee solicitor won an important case recently, appealing to the charitable side of her colleagues for help.

Emma Wright and pals from Scullion LAW recently took on the daunting challenge of completing the 23-mile Kiltwalk in Glasgow

The East Kilbride legal eagle led the way well, with colleagues Nicholas Scullion, Gordon Lennox, Diana McLeish, Liz Semple and Sarah Monaghan doing their bit for charity too.

And together the team managed to raise over £2500 for local charities, which will be generously topped up by 40 per cent with special thanks to the Tom Hunter Foundation.

Emma, Liz and Sarah took part in the challenge in aid of Marie Curie Scotland to help nurses provide more care at home and in the hospices in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Diana raised £809 for the Catherine McEwan Foundation, helping people living with Inflammatory bowel disease such as crohns and colitis.

And Gordon was walking to help Classrooms in Malawi in memory of his close friend Katie Allan who supported this charity. He managed to raise £775.76.

After the event, Emma said: “The Kiltwalk experience was incredible, slightly tough at times but extremely rewarding.

“Being surrounded by my colleagues and friends made the journey more enjoyable. I feel very proud to have helped raise so much money for Marie Curie, a cause close to my heart.”

Nicholas took part in the event in memory of the awful Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka, helping support Oxfam. He managed to raise £158.49 which will also be topped up by the Hunter Foundation.

He said: “What a special day everyone had walking alongside 13,000 others to raise money for causes close to our hearts.

“We hope to make a positive difference to the lives of others in the local community and beyond. We are very proud to have made a positive difference to the lives of others.

“We are committed to the community and beyond.”
